Would you like to make a positive difference in housing in West Lothian? An opportunity has arisen within West Lothian Council Housing, Customer & Building Services for a Housing Officer to join our Housing Operations Team.
The successful candidate will be supporting specific housing management activity supporting Capital Investment Programme specifically in regards to the RAAC (reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete) remediation project and new housing supply programme.
You must have the key skills that will enable you to provide an excellent housing management service to our customers and partners.
You will be responsible and accountable for the implementation of all Housing Management policies and procedures and ensure compliance with current legislation, regulation and good practice.
You should be able to communicate well at all levels and have a working knowledge of helping tenants and their families who have complex needs who are experiencing difficulties in sustaining their tenancy for a variety of reasons. You will be supporting tenants with their housing needs who will be temporarily decanted from their homes due to the roof replacement work and ensuring this runs smoothly in line with the contract programme, working closely with the project team. You will also be undertaking sign ups and tenancy management in support of the new council housing supply programme.
You should be able to co-ordinate service delivery to ensure that multi-functional services are delivered in accordance with council policy and to meet the needs of tenants and their communities.
Chartered Institute of Housing Level 4 or equivalent and recent relevant frontline Housing Management experience is essential for this post.
The successful candidate will have access to West Lothian Council’s Pool Car Scheme in order to undertake approved business travel.
