Job Title: Specialist Speech and Language Therapist
Location: Near Attleborough, Norfolk
Salary: £32,302.40 to £38,729.60 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)
Hours: 40 hours per week, full year contract
Contract Type: Fixed Term until November 2026
Start Date: As soon as possible after 1st September
Are you a passionate and experienced Speech and Language Therapist looking for a fulfilling role where you can make a real difference? An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a supportive and dedicated team at a specialist educational setting near Attleborough in Norfolk.
We are seeking a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to provide a dynamic, pupil-centred service for children aged 6 to 16 with a range of communication and interaction needs. The role spans two local schools offering tailored day placements for students with autism spectrum conditions, ADHD, dyslexia, and other specific learning difficulties.
You will join a multi-disciplinary team committed to removing barriers to learning and enabling every student to reach their full potential.
What You'll Be Doing
Managing a caseload of young people with complex communication needs within a specialist school environment
Delivering high-quality assessment, intervention and advice in line with individual education plans
Collaborating with other Speech and Language Therapists, therapists, teachers and pastoral staff to provide a joined-up, consistent approach
Creating accessible resources, writing professional reports and contributing to annual reviews
Supporting with screening assessments and contributing to the transition process for new pupils
Playing a key role in training staff and promoting inclusive communication strategies across the schools
What We're Looking For:
Qualifications and Registration
Degree or equivalent in Speech and Language Therapy
Registered with HCPC and RCSLT
Essential Knowledge and Experience
Experience supporting children and young people with social communication needs, autism, ADHD, SEMH and/or learning difficulties
Familiarity with a range of specialist assessment tools and therapeutic interventions
Understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, and positive behaviour support
Confidence in working within multi-disciplinary teams and producing complex written reports
Proficient IT skills for case management, reporting and communication
Skills and Personal Qualities
Compassionate, approachable and highly organised
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust with pupils, families and professionals
Clear written and spoken communication
Able to prioritise a busy workload and maintain accurate clinical records
Due to the rural location of the schools, a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are strongly recommended.
