This is a challenging, full-time role, priorities and tasks change daily so the post holder will need to be highly motivated, a self-starter and able to organise their time/workload to achieve the outcomes required! Utilising excellent organisational and strong literacy and interpersonal skills you will work as part of a wider team and individually to deliver results.

Supporting RD SW delivery teams and the management team for risks, issues and opportunities ensuring consistent advice and guidance is available for both new and existing staff including enhancements as identified, addition of new establishments or TLB changes which affect the Regional responsibilities, including DSTL and RFCA.

As a Risk Manager you will work with your team to assure compliance relating to policy, instructions and guidance. Supporting the regional lead and interfacing across the business, including technical risk impact, taking action to improve risk and issue recording, mitigation, escalation and management. Recording and managing risks and issues up the Governance chain regularly collaborating across DIO and contractor teams.

Providing motivation, engagement and support; recognising the contribution that individuals make to DIO and encouraging a working culture which promotes a healthy, safe and inclusive environment, prioritises people's development and supports smarter ways of working.

Strive to build strong collaborative, professional working relationships within your team with the Regional Technical Team and other teams across our Region, DIO & the wider MOD to provide the continued level of support needed across a diverse estate in support of Defence. Leading development of stakeholder management and analysis activities for your team and foster robust working relationships.

Provide professional advice and assistance as necessary, be responsible for preparing briefing guidance to support the effective execution of operations. Supporting an effective Communication Strategy, actively seek and adopt good practice, ensuring the implementation of audit recommendations is effectively undertaken.

Provide Regional advice and direction to DIO personnel in respect of the Risk, Corporate Governance, Parliamentary Business and Business Continuity matters; collaborating to ensure Key Controls Documents are identified, utilised and maintained.

Delivering 'in house' training or support where required to increase awareness, develop understanding and utilisation of relevant tools to maintain effective and cohesive action across staff at all levels. Develop and improve the quality of DIO Data and Information holding, getting accurate information available to support decision making.

A full UK driving licence will be advantageous as the Region is geographically dispersed, and the successful candidate will be site based with a requirement to travel to different locations to fulfil the role successfully and effectively, including occasional national travel. Noting Public Transport is not available to many of our locations.
