About the RoleWe are seeking a part-time Cover Supervisor to join a well-regarded secondary school in Wakefield from September 2025. Key Requirements:- Eligibility to work in the UK
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Experience working with secondary-aged students (11-16), ideally in a school setting
- Classroom management

- Timekeeping and punctuality

- Professional communication
- Deliver pre-set lessons in the absence of teaching staff
- Supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absences
- Ensure students remain on task with their learning
- Implement school behaviour and safeguarding policies
- Record attendance and report absences appropriately
- Manage classroom behaviour calmly and effectively
- Liaise with teaching staff and heads of department regarding cover work
- Encourage students to engage in tasks and participate in learning
- Report any safeguarding concerns to the relevant designated staff
- Support students in understanding the lesson content
