We are recruiting a Care Assistant at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 1 x 17 hours per week & 1 x 28 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent / Part Time
Location: Ty Clyd Residential Home

Team: Provider Services

We pay an attractive salary of £11,754 - £12,529 (17 hours per week) / £19,360 - £20,636 (28 hours per week) and offer access to training and development opportunities.

Ty Clyd Residential Home is looking for 2 x Care Assistants to provide care and support for older adults. You will be required to carry out duties to support residents in a dignified and respectful manner, promoting independence and wellbeing and adopt a person-centred approach.



Experience of working with older people would be beneficial although not essential. You must have knowledge of the principles that underpin quality care e.g. dignity and choice. You must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, possess clear understanding of the sensitive and confidential nature of the post and be courteous and responsive to the needs of individuals.



28 hours per week post:

4 x 7 hour shifts over a 7 day week, working on a 2 week working pattern.



17 hours per week (34 hours every 2 weeks) post:

Week 1 - 14 hours / Week 2 - 20 hours

It is essential that applicants are in receipt of / working towards Level 2 in care (Previously known as NVQ 2) or a willingness to achieve the qualification within a specified timeframe.



For the role, we ask that you have:

The ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
Experience of working as part of a team.
The ability and willingness to work flexibly including weekends, bank holidays and sleep in duties.
