Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established specialist primary school that provides high-quality education for pupils aged 4-11 with autism and complex needs.
The school is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Primary Class Teacher to join their team on a full-time, on a temporary to permanent basis.

Contract Type: Temporary to permanent
Location: Streatham, Southwest London
Start Date: September 2025
Pay: According to your teaching scale
The Role
The successful candidate will lead a small class of pupils with a range of needs including autism, communication difficulties, and learning challenges. They will be responsible for planning and delivering a personalised, engaging curriculum that meets both academic and developmental goals. The role includes working closely with a team of experienced teaching assistants and collaborating with therapists and other professionals.
Key Responsibilities
· Deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs
· Create a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
· Monitor and assess pupil progress in line with EHCP targets
· Work in partnership with parents, carers, and external specialists
· Support the emotional wellbeing and personal development of pupils
Requirements
· Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
· Experience working with children with autism and complex needs (in either mainstream or specialist settings)
· Strong behaviour management and communication skills
· A positive, flexible, and resilient approach
· Commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding
