Summary
SEN Year 7 Class Teacher - Tooting, Southwest London
Prospero Teaching is currently recruiting for a SEN Year 7 Class Teacher to join a specialist SEMH school in Tooting, Southwest London. This is a full-time position delivering a range of core subjects (e.g. English, Maths, Science) to a small class of students with additional needs.
Job Details:
- Role: SEN Year 7 Class Teacher (Core Subjects)
- Start Date: Immediate
- Contract: Long-term, with potential to become permanent
- Working Hours: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
- Location: Tooting, Southwest London
- Pay: £140 - £260 per day (depending on experience & qualifications)
- Parking: On-site parking available

This is a specialist school for boys aged 5-19 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school prides itself on providing a nurturing and structured environment with a strong focus on emotional wellbeing, therapeutic support, and individualised learning plans.
What We're Looking For:
- A qualified teacher experienced in teaching across the KS3 curriculum (Year 7 focus)
- Confident in delivering core subjects including English, Maths, and Science
- A creative and adaptive teaching approach
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- An understanding of trauma-informed practice and supporting students with SEMH
Essential Requirements:
- QTS (or equivalent UK teaching qualification)
- Experience teaching in SEN, SEMH, or alternative provisions
- Enhanced DBS (Child & Adult Workforce) on the Update Service
- Two recent and relevant professional references

- Experienced SEN Teachers confident teaching across multiple subjects
- Primary or Secondary Teachers with a passion for inclusive education
- Educators with backgrounds in PRUs, SEMH settings, or special schools
