In this vital role, you'll be at the heart of our waste and recycling operations, helping to keep our hospital clean, compliant, and efficient. From managing general waste to handling linen and recycling streams, your work will directly support the safety and wellbeing of patients, staff, and visitors alike.

You will provide a comprehensive front-line support service to all wards and departments within the Trust, carrying out a range of waste, linen, and recycling duties. In this key role, you will demonstrate a consistently high standard of professionalism, remain flexible in your approach, and use your own initiative to effectively plan your workload and resolve any issues that may arise.

• Communicate verbally with the portering waste supervisor and colleagues by phone and radio and through written procedures, ensuring an effective exchange of information regarding tasks and service needs
• Undertake waste, recycling and linen duties in accordance with legislation, policies, and procedures
• Undertake waste, recycling and linen duties as required
• Identify and act upon any potential risks or hazards within the working environment.
• Pro-actively support the continued improvement of the service
• Maintain and develop own competence for the role
