Hold a 2:1 degree or above in a relevant subject (e.g., Psychology, Education, Child Development, Social Work, or related disciplines)
Be a confident communicator, capable of building strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families
Show resilience, patience and adaptability when managing challenging behaviour or emotional outbursts
Be genuinely committed to a future career in education, therapy, clinical/educational psychology, or social care
What Will You Be Doing as a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant? - Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant
As a key member of the classroom support team, your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant
• Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with diverse and complex needs
* Assisting with lesson preparation and the adaptation of learning materials to suit individual EHCP targets
* Supporting emotional regulation and helping students access their individualised communication systems (PECS, Makaton, visual timetables, etc.)
* Reinforcing positive behaviour strategies and assisting pupils in developing self-confidence, independence, and coping mechanisms
* Recording observations and helping to track student progress against developmental and academic goals
