Summary

Join Our Team as a Support Worker in Radstock (BA3)

Location: Radstock, BA3 (Just a 7min Drive from Dragonfly Leisure Midsomer Norton)
Pay Rate: £14.11 per hour + £50 per sleep-in shift
Hours: Full-Time or Part-Time
Shifts Available:

- Long Day with Sleep-In: 10:00 AM - 10:00 AM (next day)

- 2:1 Support (Mon, Wed, Fri): 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

- Sleep-In Shifts: 1-2 per week
Driver Requirement: Auto-Friendly Full UK Driving Licence Essential

Who Will You Be Supporting?

You'll be supporting a gentleman in his 50s who lives with learning disabilities and autism. He thrives on routine, enjoys being part of a team, and values meaningful, respectful relationships with those around him.

Support is provided on a 1:1 basis, with some 2:1 support during the week. This is a lone-working role during sleep-ins and long days.

What Are His Interests?

This gentleman has a great sense of humour and loves a bit of banter. He enjoys:

- Being social and involved in conversations

- Trips out for coffee and cake or lunch

- Browsing B&M and other local shops

- Maintaining a structured routine that gives him a sense of security

He's worked hard to build confidence in getting out and about, and your support will help him continue to grow. His family is closely involved—his sister calls every Sunday and his mum visits monthly.

What Will You Be Doing?

As a Support Worker, you'll be:

- Providing Personal Care: Supporting with daily routines and hygiene

- Promoting Independence: Encouraging choice and autonomy in daily life

- Managing Behaviours of Distress: Using calm, confident approaches (training provided)

- Planning Activities: Creatively supporting new experiences and community engagement

- Building Relationships: Creating a sense of safety, trust, and consistency

- Working Collaboratively: Communicating with family and professionals

Experience with behaviours of distress and PROACT-SCIPr-UK is desirable, but not essential—we'll provide full training if you share our values.
