We have a great opportunity for a part time (15 hours/week) Highly Specialist Physiotherapist in the Neuromuscular out-patient service.
Neuromuscular Out-Patients is a regional service offering specialist multi-disciplinary assessment and interventions for adults with a range of neuromuscular conditions.
We require a physiotherapist with highly developed clinical skills and a passion for working with this client group, providing clinical leadership and expertise within the physiotherapy and wider multidisciplinary team. You will work closely alongside a Neuromuscular Care Advisor and Consultant Neurologist, contributing to a national network of specialists in this field. You will be involved in performing specialist assessments and gathering outcome data for patient care and national research databases.
This service is based at Queens Medical Centre however the role requires flexibility to work across NUH sites and to travel regionally as required, therefore a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.
You will need excellent communication skills to facilitate close working relationships with members of the multidisciplinary team and to promote multi-agency working across the region to enhance patient experience. You will provide up to date knowledge and education to colleagues across the region regarding these rare conditions.
You will require excellent clinical reasoning skills and a holistic, compassionate approach to supporting patients with complex and sometimes life limiting conditions. Providing education to patients, families and carers to promote self-management is an important element of the role.
Alongside strong clinical skills you will require organisational and time management skills to effectively balance referral management, out patient clinics, home visits, data collection and service development in line with standards of care.
