Come and join our neuro rotation as a band 6 physiotherapist! This rotation will provide you with experience across a range of clinical settings to develop your neurological rehabilitation skills. Rotations include our regional neurosciences wards, stroke, Parkinson's out patient rehabilitation, community reablement team and neuro rehab out-patients. This rotation also includes Linden Lodge neuro rehabilitation unit, which is moving to become part of the National Rehabilitation Centre when it opens in autumn 2025. We are looking for a therapist who is passionate about neurological rehabilitation to join our experienced, dynamic and friendly multi-disciplinary teams.
The successful candidate will have a broad base of clinical experience at band 5 level and a desire to develop further in this clinical specialty. You will also aspire to support and develop the team and contribute effectively to service development in conjunction with the senior team. You will demonstrate highly skilled communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to work both autonomously and within the team.
Preparedness to learn the use of new technologies and support service innovation is desirable. Rotations are based across all NUH campuses. For the community rotation, a full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.

In this role you will provide physiotherapy for a complex caseload, working creatively and collaboratively with the MDT, patients and their families, as well as external agencies. You will assist in ensuring effective delivery of service to patients, supporting staff and actively developing the service. This will include providing training, staff supervision and management, and actively engaging in service development projects, as well as supporting the wider AHP strategy at NUH. You will actively participate in student training.
You will receive support and training opportunities for you to develop in this role to reach your full potential. This will include peer and senior support, regular supervision, in-house and external training, as well as varied opportunities to engage in wider learning experiences.
You must have a passion for delivering patient-centred care and a desire to work jointly as a key member of the MDT.
Therapies, Out Patients and Phlebotomy is one of the directorates within the Specialist Clinical Services Care Group at NUH. We are a diverse pathway of AHPs and support staff, employing over 700 staff who work together to deliver the high quality care we aspire to.
Our HCPC registered AHP professionals comprise of physiotherapists, dietitians, occupational therapists, orthotists, prosthetists and speech and language therapists, and our other staff encompass professionals such as nurses, psychologists, administrative and clerical and support workers.
We have a Chief AHP to lead us on our strategic direction, and many of the pathway leadership team have pathway AHP backgrounds to support our staff. There are also Practice Development Therapists to support career development for all.

You will be required to:
Work as part of the multidisciplinary team
Assess and treat patients with complex neurological presentations.
Provide supervision to more junior staff (including Band 5, support and student members of staff).
Deputise for the Band 7 team leader as appropriate.
Work flexibly - including working on out of hours rosters and on-call
Work alongside the Clinical Specialist and senior clinical colleagues to develop the service in line with evidence based practice.
