What's involved with this role:

JOB TITLE: Electrical Response Repairs Manager – Building and Construction - Social Housing
REF: Bristol 5272932
Pay rate: £29.07 per hour PAYE
Working Arrangement: Hybrid working. The role will allow for flexible working but it will be an expectation that you will be in the office 3 to 4 days a week.

The role:

On behalf of a local council, we are seeking an Electrical Response Repairs Manager for approximately 6 months.

You will have an HNC or equivalent qualification in a construction or building related subject or management studies plus a further period of related experience OR equivalent knowledge and skill.

You should also have experience in a building, surveying or social housing environment with a focus on electrical installations.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and lead a team of staff in collaboration with colleagues and contractors providing repairs, maintenance and improvements to council owned dwellings, properties and land managed by Landlord Services within the HRA ensuring completed works are compliant with relevant building regulations and housing legislation in particular electrical testing, repairs and planned maintenance.
Maintain day-to-day line management and development of all staff and supervisors in the team and developing an effective on boarding plan to provide consistent continuity.
Assist the Service Manager with the monitoring and development of repairs policies and updating legislative change, seeking best practice, ideas and innovative solutions and ensuring they are applied within the Service.
Ensure customer engagement in the service to empower and enable customers to make decisions on how the service is delivered



What the client is looking for:

HNC or equivalent qualification in a construction or building related subject or management studies plus a further period of related experience OR equivalent
Knowledge and skill demonstrated from significant and relevant experience in a building, surveying or social housing environment with a focus on electrical installations.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of health & safety issues and requirements related to the construction industry including relevant CDM experience.
Experience of managing technically qualified staff with the ability to lead, motivate, performance manage and develop others to continuously improve the customer’s experience.
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills with a ‘can-do’ attitude to staff resources to ensure all work progresses smoothly and with least inconvenience to the customer.
Experience in the effective management of contractors, sub-contractors and suppliers ensuring contract adherence and strong performance in terms of quality, safety and customer satisfaction - desirable
