Summary
SEND Teacher - Alternative Provision - Barking & Dagenham
Pay: £175- £225 per day
We are seeking SEND Teachers for supply work at an Ofsted-graded Good Alternative Provision in Barking & Dagenham for the 2025-26 academic year.
This highly respected specialist setting supports children and young people with Complex Needs and Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). The school offers a personalised curriculum tailored to each learner's physical, sensory, and cognitive needs, with a strong emphasis on communication, personal care, and fostering independence.
Classes are small, typically comprising 6-8 students, and benefit from excellent support by experienced Teaching Assistants and therapists. The school features outstanding facilities, including sensory rooms and accessible outdoor learning spaces. You'll join a warm, collaborative team where every staff member plays a vital role in supporting each pupil's development and wellbeing.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have experience teaching pupils with PMLD and Complex Needs
- Be confident delivering a multi-sensory, student-led curriculum
- Be knowledgeable in communication strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or Intensive Interaction
- Be comfortable supporting personal care and medical needs (training provided if required)
- Hold QTS, QTLS, or possess equivalent SEND teaching experience
