This specialist setting supports young people with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs through a therapeutic, vocational, and nature-based approach. The provision integrates animal care, outdoor learning, and personalised support to help learners thrive in a non-mainstream environment. We are seeking a Support Worker to join this inspiring team from September 2025. This is a full-time role, available on a temp-to-perm basis or permanent from day one for the right candidate. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about alternative education, enjoys working with animals, and wants to make a meaningful impact.
Your New Job
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to learners with SEND and SEMH needs
- Assist with coursework, vocational learning, and personal development
- Adapt communication styles to meet individual learner's needs
- Work outdoors daily and take part in animal care activities as a core part of the curriculum
- Help create a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Experience supporting young people with SEND, SEMH, or additional needs
- A positive, proactive attitude and a flexible, empathetic approach
- A genuine love for the outdoors and working with animals
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A willingness to get involved and lead by example in a hands-on environment
