Co-ordinate the day to day delivery of all elements of care services highlighting potential emerging issues to the relevant member of the Locality Leadership Team. Participate in daily Care Planning meetings. Ensure the effective and efficient use of resources. Prepare, review and provide oversight of the nursing care duty rota and local on call arrangements. Liaise with other locality Care Managers to ensure effective allocation of staff across localities. Participate in operational planning for group events and activities ensuring the best use of resources. Assist the Service Manager to implement arrangements which ensure that the service complies with the Care Quality Commissions fundamental standards in respect of the regulated activity. Contribute to the development of the care service model on designated pieces of work. Manage the multi-professional Team Leaders and care co-ordination teams in the absence of a team leader, including performance management and development, management supervision and appraisals. Participate in the recruitment and selection process, as required. Support the induction of new care staff within the locality. Manage sickness and capability issues escalating as required. Manage requests for annual leave for all care staff ensuring there is adequate cover for service delivery. Oversee and authorise timesheets for care staff. Participate in tri-site Team Leader meetings and deliver sessions as required. In the absence of members of the Locality Leadership Team complete CQC and CDOP notification of deaths and attend Central Panel and Operational Leadership Team meetings and any other meetings to represent the locality, as required. Provide oversight of the care co-ordination of families with Team Leaders, ensuring new referrals, Holistic Needs Assessments and care assessments are progressed and completed to meet targets. Actively participate in weekly Locality Multi Professional and team meetings ensuring staff are made available to attend as required and complete allocated tasks. Assist the Locality Leadership Team to ensure the effective management of incidents, complaints and concerns ensuring investigations and follow up actions are completed and reporting to external bodies, as required. Review all Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) alerts, take appropriate action in conjunction with the Care Managers at other localities. Participate in quality and safety group activities including audits as required. Collaborate with external partners and agencies as directed by the Locality Leadership Team. Support the Service Manager to facilitate visits arranged by the Fundraising Team and other external professionals. Share professional expertise with Care Team colleagues, providing support and training where appropriate. Support less experienced staff to develop skills in organising, prioritising and delegation. Be responsible for own on-going practice development and lifelong learning by adopting a reflective approach to personal practice; participating in appraisal, clinical and safeguarding supervision, reflective practice, education and training. Act as a representative and advocate for the organisation and to maintain positive and effective communication with other agencies involved with families receiving EACH services. To attend discharge planning, review and debrief meetings as appropriate. Work autonomously without supervision, ensuring personal accountability in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) code: Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics for Nurses and Midwives.
