Summary

Hours: 24–30 hours per week (flexible on days/hours between Monday–Friday)
Contract: Temporary (Mid-October 2025 – Mid March 2026. Five Months)

Are you a detail-oriented, experienced payroll professional looking for a flexible role in a small, friendly, family-run Residential Care Home?

We’re looking for a skilled and highly confidential Bookkeeping & Payroll Professional to join our team on a maternity cover basis. The ideal candidate will be confident working independently and have experience using Xero and Sage Payroll.
Key Responsibilities:
• Processing four-weekly payroll for 40 staff members
• Managing auto-enrolment pensions and ensuring compliance
• Accurately processing statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP, etc.)
• Submitting RTI returns to HMRCProcessing weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for multiple clients
• Managing auto-enrolment pension submissions and compliance
• Ensuring all statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP, etc.) are calculated and processed correctly
• Preparing and submitting RTI returns to HMRC
• Dealing with payroll queries from employees
• Keeping up to date with payroll legislation and HMRC guidelines
• Maintaining accurate and confidential payroll records
• Liaising with pension providers and HMRC as required
• Keeping payroll procedures compliant with current legislation
• Maintaining accurate and confidential financial and payroll records
• Liaising with HMRC and pension providers as require
• Manage and record incoming revenue
• Invoicing clients and paying supplier invoices
• Process and input purchases and invoices
• General office administrative duties
• Allocate payments to invoices – Using Xero as a platform
What We're Looking For:
• Essential: Experience with Xero and Sage Payroll
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and professionally
• Willingness to receive general training and support as needed
