As an Admissions Administrator, you’ll be a key part of the University’s centralised admissions team, delivering a high-quality, applicant-focused service. You’ll develop specialist knowledge of your course areas and become a trusted point of contact for both applicants and colleagues, offering clear and timely advice on admissions processes. Your post will also involve maintaining accurate records, responding to enquiries across multiple platforms, and supporting key university events such as Open Days, Confirmation, Clearing, and Enrolment. This is a rewarding post that offers variety and the opportunity to make a real impact on the applicant-student journey. Excellent attention to detail, communication skills with a commitment to outstanding customer service are required for this post.

Please note: This post involves occasional evening and weekend work during peak periods, particularly in August and September, when annual leave restrictions may apply.

We want you to be able to carry out your work in a way that best supports UON and our students, but also you as an individual. We understand this may vary between different areas of the university as well as from one person to another. With Smarter Working you can work with increased flexibility, if you would like to, which can facilitate greater freedom and autonomy.

About you

You’ll be organised, detail-oriented, and experienced in delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced, team environment. Confident and clear in your communication, you’ll handle enquiries across phone, email and in person with professionalism and empathy. You’ll have effective administrative skills, able to follow procedures and manage competing priorities with accuracy and care. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) is essential, and experience with databases is desirable. While knowledge of student record systems is a plus, full training will be provided. You’ll be adaptable, proactive, and eager to learn, with a genuine interest in supporting applicants through their journey. Flexibility is required, including occasional evening and weekend work during peak periods such as August and September.
