Job title: Personal Assistant (PA)

Reporting to: The Employer

Location: Peckham, London SE15

Job purpose:
To assist with a variety of tasks which will assist the person who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests.

About the employer:
Our client is a 6-year-old male living in the SE15 area of London who is looking for a Personal Assistant to provide support for 6 hours per week.
Our client has Cerebral Palsy and requires extra help with his mobility, communication, play and comfort.

Main duties:
Duties would include, but not be limited to:
 School collection during term time (a short debrief with his teacher/LSA, and then pushing his wheelchair approx.10 mins to get home)
 Administering blended food via a feeding tube
 Engaging in meaningful ways (including conversation, reading stories, sensory activities, and enjoying music together)
 Personal care (Incontinent care, changing clothes)
 Postural care (using a hoist system to help our client move between pieces of equipment for comfort and variety)
 Attentiveness to physical needs (reflux, muscle spasms, positional discomfort, etc)

These duties may vary from day-to-day.

 Values: someone that is honest, reliable, punctual, non-judgemental, ability to build good relationships based on trust and respect, flexible, adaptable, easy going, able to work alone, positive, willingness to travel and understands equality and diversity.

 Specific requirements: No previous experience is necessary, but we need someone who is not fazed by medical devices and bodily fluids. Someone who will communicate reliably with the family.

Hours of work: 6 hours per week to be worked over 2/3 shifts

Rate of pay: £15 per week

Skills, qualifications, and experience
Essential:
 Driving licence
 Car and appropriate insurance
 Willingness to Lean as full training provided
 Good communication skills
 Confidentiality
 Good at building relationships

Successful applicants will require DBS checks & Employment References.

This role is funded by the Local Authority and is paid 4 weekly.
