Join us in shaping the future- we are looking for individuals who are ready to inspire, achieve and share our commitment to delivering outstanding education.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Customer Service Apprentice to join the vastly experienced hair & beauty team, reporting to our Curriculum Manager. The department needs a customer service representative who can manage the departments commercial salon reception area. The Colleges in-house Mosaic salon offers treatments and services for both hair and beauty clients and requires an individual who can meet and greet customers, along with booking appointments and promoting our programmes and cosmetology.

As a Customer Service Apprentice with Redcar and Cleveland College you will be responsible for delivering a professional and efficient first impression to clients using the salons. You will need to have an eye for detail regarding the cleanliness and health and safety aspects linked to training and commercial salons, with the ability to respond to a range of queries and requests ensuring satisfaction of service to meet customer needs. Communication skills are essential with the ability to use various methods such as on the telephone, face to face and written, meaning strong English skills are essential.

The ideal candidate will be a confident and enthusiastic individual with a keen interest within the hair and beauty industry. They will have knowledge of current trends, and services offered along with the ability to meet targets set linking to income generation for the department. A profound knowledge of social media and how to promote the Mosaic salon is needed, as this will be an aspect of the role, as well as the ability to manage own time and workloads, and use own initiative.

The successful candidate will complete a Level 2 Customer Service qualification alongside this role, and is required to attend a mandatory 1 day per week off-the-job training session, with a specified apprenticeship assessor. A Level 2 qualification within a hair or beauty related field is desirable, however not essential, and full training will be offered for all aspects of the role.
