This role sits within a dynamic shared service team focused on driving climate action and operational excellence through cutting-edge infrastructure projects.
Your New Role
As the Renewable Energy Manager, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of a major renewable energy infrastructure initiative. This includes the design, construction, and commissioning of a solar PV plant, battery energy storage system (BESS), and electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure to support a fleet of electric refuse collection vehicles (eRCVs). You'll manage contractors and consultants, oversee project governance, ensure integration with operational teams, and act as the key liaison for internal and external stakeholders.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline), Energy Systems, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in managing complex infrastructure or renewable energy projects
- Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
- Knowledge of NEC contract management and construction site safety
- Ability to translate technical information for non-specialist audiences
- A passion for sustainability, innovation, and delivering measurable environmental impact
- Flexibility to work across multiple sites and occasionally outside standard hours
- Full UK driving license
