Summary
Fairburn House is a residential care home for adults aged 16-60 years old with learning difficulties, sensory impairment and physical disabilities.
We are looking to employ a domestic assistant to join the team. Areas of work and duties include general cleaning, kitchen assistance and laundry room. You must be reliable, with a friendly and caring approach to staff, residents and visitors. Maintaining a high standard of work is crucial.
Experience is preferred but not essential, as training is provided. A good level of spoken and written English is necessary to effectively understand the training and accurate recording of the cleaning schedule.
You will be required to register to the PVG disclosure scheme, alongside providing satisfactory references.
Hours will be in the range of up to 40 hours per week. The shifts will be varied, and occasional weekends are required. Shift availability is between 8am and 8pm. Part-time may be considered.

- Perform general cleaning duties in residential or commercial settings
- Dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors
- Cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms and kitchens
- Changing bed linens and doing laundry
- Emptying trash and recycling bins
- Reporting any maintenance or repair issues to the supervisor
Requirements:
- Previous experience in domestic or commercial cleaning would be an advantage
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects if necessary
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour
