Job Description

PAY AWARD PENDING.

This is a part-time post, the salary will be pro-rata'd to the hours worked.

West Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership are looking to recruit an experienced social worker to a busy but supportive integrated adult learning disabilities team.

This role covers the whole of the West Dunbartonshire area and you will work with a variety of professionals to foster a multi-disciplinary approach.

Experience and knowledge of the issues that impact upon disabled adults and their carers is essential, as is an awareness and understanding of risk and the impact of trauma.

You will carry out direct work with adults, carers and families. You will undertake statutory duties, including assessing to providing support, and monitoring packages of support. You will be expected to work in line with relevant legislation including the Social Work Scotland Act, Adults With Incapacity Act, Mental Health Act and Adult Support and Protection Act, putting inter agency working at the forefront of your practice.

You will be required to complete assessments and write reports and should have good report writing skills and be able to prioritise your workload to meet timescales.

The recording of case notes is central to practice, and you should be able to do this accurately and in a timeous manner as part of the Social Worker role.

You will be able to communicate clearly in a variety of settings with a wide range of people from differing roles and backgrounds and needs.

Requirements

This post is considered a Regulated Role with Children and Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.

Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
