Humanities Tutor - Alternative Provision
Location: Nottingham (NG2)
Hours: Full-time or part-time (09:00am - 15:00pm)
Pay: £520 - £540 per week (full-time equivalent)
Contract: Long-term to permanent
Start Date: September 2025
About the Role
Long Term Futures are looking to appoint a committed Humanities Tutor to join a specialist alternative provision in Nottingham, providing 1:1 support to students aged 11-16 who may face barriers to learning. The setting offers a calm, structured environment where students are supported to re-engage with education, focusing on their individual progress and wellbeing.
You will deliver tailored sessions across Humanities subjects such as History, Geography and RE, helping learners build knowledge and confidence while supporting their personal development.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Deliver 1:1 Humanities tutoring adapted to each student's learning style and needs
- Plan and deliver engaging sessions in History, Geography and RE
- Support students in building confidence and curiosity in their learning
- Monitor and record progress to guide next steps and celebrate successes
- Work closely with staff to ensure a holistic approach to student development
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a relevant degree/qualification in Humanities
- Experience working with young people with SEN, SEMH, or barriers to learning
- Strong subject knowledge across Humanities areas
- A patient, flexible and relationship-focused approach
- A commitment to helping students achieve at their own pace
