Crynodeb

This level 3 information communications technician apprenticeship is an excellent opportunity
to start your career in IT gaining hands-on experience in a managed service provider setting
alongside a comprehensive training programme with Exeter College. The role will involve:
• Being the first point of contact for clients contacting the Service Desk, taking ownership of
the incidents and resolving them within contracted service level agreement (SLA).
• Understanding desktop and server operating systems, cloud services like Microsoft 365 and
dealing with a range of client incidents.
• Continually learning and using your new skills to resolve or progress requests for support
from our clients within their agreed service level agreement (SLA).
• Working as a team and committing to working to our company values.
• Articulating, documenting and updating technical processes, guidelines and client
information so that the business can support its clients.
• Adopting a can-do attitude, promoting the Service Desk in providing a one-stop service
support solution.
• Representing Nexus in a professional and helpful capacity providing remote support with an
excellent telephone manner and using remote management tools or working face-to-face
with clients at their site.
• Managing and prioritising your workload and study.
• Awareness of the importance of Information Security policies and processes applicable to
our organisation and our ISO27001 Certification

Training
As an apprentice, you will be working towards the Level 3 IT Communication Technician
Apprenticeship. We will also provide the opportunity to gain vendor related certifications e.g.
Microsoft, Dell, SonicWALL

Qualifications required
GCSE Maths & English at grade 4/ C or equivalent

Skills required
Be enthusiastic about technology.

• Have a basic understanding of computer hardware, software and networking principles.
• Be willing to continuously learn, expanding your knowledge proactively as well as
participating in training sessions both at work and in college.
