Applications are invited for a Clinical Nurse Specialist Respiratory - Band 6 nurse to join our multi-disciplinary, integrated and award-winning team of respiratory nurses and physiotherapist called Adult Respiratory Care and Rehabilitation (ARCARE). Working fulltime in our different services at Royal London Hospital, St Bartholomew’s Hospital and Mile End Hospital. This is an excellent development opportunity for an existing Band 6 to specialist in respiratory or a Band 5 with respiratory nursing experience to develop into a Band 6 for six months.



The post holder will work closely with respiratory teams, across sites (occasional cross site cover may be required). This is an exciting role that supports an integrated approach in supporting respiratory patients across the various patient pathways including in-patient reviews, diagnostic (spirometry) and follow-up asthma /COPD clinics, respiratory virtual ward, home oxygen, primary care education, respiratory case management and pulmonary rehabilitation. We support an internal rotation program within the department to enhance ones respiratory nursing skills. We are looking for a patient focused nurse to join our team and help the service deliver responsive and compassionate care.

The aim of this role is to provide, as part of a multi-disciplinary team, comprehensive assessment and management of patients with chronic respiratory disease in a community virtual ward environment, providing excellent standards of care through improving and facilitating multi-professional working.

The post holder will join a flexible multi-professional team of nurses, physiotherapists, rehabilitation assistant and clinical administrator to provide, Community Virtual Ward/Admission Avoidance, Supported Hospital Discharge, Respiratory complex patient Case Management, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Oxygen Assessment and general respiratory primary care education in line with national guidelines and best practice, to patients in their own homes, virtually or in clinic settings.

The post holder will be required to work flexibly to provide a 8am – 6 pm service, 7 days a week and there will be an expectation to work weekend on rotational basis.

The post holder will be working in various community health care settings in Tower Hamlets, and across the Trust.

There will be an expectation to cover colleague absence as necessary.
