Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct property inspections across tenanted and void social housing stock in South London.

  • Manage disrepair cases from inspection through to resolution, including liaising with legal teams and compiling detailed reports.

  • Prepare specifications, scope of works, and schedules for planned works and refurbishments.

  • Work closely with contractors, residents, housing officers, and asset management teams to ensure works are completed on time and within budget.

  • Ensure all works comply with health and safety standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality benchmarks.

  • Maintain up-to-date records and reporting systems using asset management or housing software.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Property/Building Surveyor within the social housing sector.

  • HNC/HND or degree in Building Surveying or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Good understanding of planned and cyclical maintenance processes.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to manage workloads efficiently across a busy and varied patch.

  • Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.

Desirable:

  • Membership of RICS, CIOB, or similar professional body.

  • Familiarity with South London boroughs and housing associations.

  • Experience using housing or asset management systems
