Are you an engaging, empathetic individual with a passion for supporting young people? We are looking for a Mentor to work with a young person currently transitioning into Year 10, who is seeking a positive and nurturing adult relationship to help build confidence and explore their interests.
About the Young Person:
- Transitioning into Year 10
- Has an EHCP in place
- Fantastic sense of humour and loves jokes
- Enjoys cooking, skateboarding, and DJing
- Looking to build confidence and engage in meaningful, enjoyable activities
- Available for mentoring 4 days a week, with flexible timing (mornings or afternoons)
As a Mentor, you will:

Provide 1:1 mentoring support for 10 hours per week (with potential to increase to 15 hours)
Build a trusting, consistent relationship with the young person
Plan and participate in interest-led activities such as cooking sessions, skateboarding outings, or music-related experiences
Support the young person's social and emotional development
Drive the young person to and from activities as needed
- Provide 1:1 mentoring support for 10 hours per week (with potential to increase to 15 hours)
- Build a trusting, consistent relationship with the young person
- Plan and participate in interest-led activities such as cooking sessions, skateboarding outings, or music-related experiences
- Support the young person's social and emotional development
- Drive the young person to and from activities as needed
About you:

Experience working with young people, especially those with ADHD, ASD, or additional needs
A calm, patient, and creative approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

Contract or position start date - ASAP
Full time/part-time - Dependent on candidate availability.
Hours - 10 overall- Morningsor afternoons across 4 days (can increase to 15)
Essential & Desirable Qualifications:

A background in youth work/ support work is highly desirable
Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools
Experience working with learners with SEN needs is highly desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Enthusiasm, compassion and positivity are essential, along with a calm nature

- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide references upon request
- Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
