National Development Manager



Salary: Competitive plus car/cash allowance, bonus & pension

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Location: Base location is Cannock with National Travel required.

What you'll be doing;

  • The National Development Manager role involves working within the Commercial Services division and will make a key contribution to Veolia's drive for a substantial share of the commercial national accounts market.
  • Through the creation of compelling financial and environmental value propositions that truly set us apart from our competition, you will secure profitable new business contracts with major national UK companies. This will help to position Veolia as the provider of choice for Resource and Waste Management services.
  • You will generate a strong new business pipeline within our commercial national accounts business - targeting companies within the allocated sector(s) creating an opportunity to provide Resource/Waste Services.
  • Preparing proposals and tender documents for new business sales opportunities ensuring that each proposal highlights an understanding of the customer needs whilst delivering a compelling reason for change.
  • Produce and deliver engaging presentations and manage the full sales process to conclusion.
  • Proactively network and build relationships with external groups within key national account growth markets and engage with all departments throughout the sales process including bid, financial ,mobilisation, account management and customer service teams.
  • Work closely with the marketing leadership team to implement a prospect plan to communicate with key customers through digital and social media outlets whilst ensuring Corporate Governance is delivered in line with the Delegation of Authority



What we're looking for;

Essential:

  • A candidate with a consistent record and exceeding sales targets, tendering with large organisations and providing multi site solutions for businesses by engaging with both internal and external stakeholders to generate success.
  • A sound level of financial acumen and bid writing skills are a must - you will be comfortable in identifying business opportunities and be able to develop, manage and nurture business relationships.
  • Previous proven experience within the waste industry and sound knowledge of Private Sector procurement processes.
