About the role
Digital Inclusion is a key priority of Bury Council’s ‘Let’s’ Strategy, supporting our residents to access the digital world with confidence.
This role will be pivotal in designing programmes that support residents and businesses to build their confidence and skills with digital technology.
The role sits within the Business, Growth and Infrastructure Directorate. Working in the Business and Investment team you will be part of a wider team delivering cross borough regeneration, building a skilled population and supporting a strong eco system of good quality business support.
The post is funded by Greater Manchester Combined Authority through the Adult Education Budget. We envisage that the post will be extending beyond the initial 12 months.
This post offers the opportunity to gain the knowledge, skills and experience to progress and develop an exciting career in place shaping and business liaison. You will work with colleagues across connected areas including skills, employment, health and wellbeing, and policy development supporting residents across the borough.
The work is varied, fast paced and constantly evolving. So, if you have a passion for digital inclusion and like to connect organisations together for the benefit of communities this could be the role for you.
Attendance at early morning and evening meetings will be required, so you will need to be flexible and committed to working outside normal office hours.
Hours of work are 37 per week and an extended flexi-time scheme is in operation.
