Production Planner
Salary £38,000 Thornbury BS35, 34 days holiday incl bank hols, pension (Salary sacrifice), parking, bonus scheme, 38.5 hours a week, Current core hours 7am - 4pm Mon - Thursday and 7am-3pm Friday but flexible about start and finish times within core hours.
Friendly and successful manufacturing company in Thornbury are recruiting for a production planner who would report to the Operations Director.
Responsibilities for the production planner
- Production Planning for three sites
- Setting lead times for each production machine daily
- Purchasing of raw materials and tooling but pricing is already agreed and in place with one supplier, so only processing in line with the production plan
- Responsible for planning KPI's
- Attend daily production meetings and communicate changes and reset priorities with team
- Liaise closely with the transport manager to ensure production plan links closely with transport and logistics schedule
- IT literate and familiar with ERP type systems, Microsoft suite, able to utilise systems for planning and reporting
- The ability to multi-task and be responsive to customer demands is essential with lead times of 5 working days in a fast moving and quick turnround business environment
Key Skills required for the production planner
- Previous experience of production planning or scheduling in volume manufacturing environments
- Any production related qualifications are useful but not essential if candidates can demonstrate a suitable and relevant work history
- Fast moving, volume production business, so the ability to multi-task and be very responsive to customer demands is essential
- IT literate and familiar with transport planning and ERP systems, producing reports and information for the management team
- Good communication skills with the ability to work to production deadlines and attend attend daily meetings
