We have an exciting secondment opportunity in the Slough OPMH service. We are looking for a clinical lead to provide maternity cover for 1 year. You will require highly developed clinical skills and expert knowledge in the treatment of older people with mental health and cognitive problems.

It will be a good opportunity for existing Band 7s who fancy a change or an experienced Band 6 who is looking to develop their management expertise.

We are based at Upton Hospital and offer a hybrid working pattern to ensure a good work/life balance.
• Day to day coordination of the service, including Duty and allocations provided to older people with mental health needs by the community mental health and home treatment teams for older people.
• Provision of supervision, education and highly specialist advice to colleagues and other agencies.
• Be responsible for a caseload of patients with highly complex needs
• To organise and lead relevant team clinical meetings.
• To observe and implement the requirements of the Mental Health Act and other relevant legislation.
• To deputise for the Service Manager in their absence

FOR SECONDMENT ROLES ONLY - If the secondment role becomes permanent, the successful candidate may be offered the permanent position.

The “must haves” for this role:

1. RMN or equivalent Professional Qualification.
2. Advanced assessment & clinical reasoning skills.
3. Leadership abilities, both clinical and managerial.
