The Midwifery Clinical Placement Facilitator is a pivotal role in the development of Student Midwives into the future Midwifery Practice. This role will be fundamental in the shaping of future maternity services across East Kent Hospitals, and the development and experience of our Students and their introduction to our profession.

As a team we are working hard to ensure we put women and families at the heart of everything we do. We are on an exciting improvement journey and can offer you a rewarding, flexible and supportive role providing a full range of midwifery care.

This is based at Kent and Canterbury Hospital, however a trust wide role.

The Midwifery Clinical Placement Facilitator role is pivotal in supporting mentors and student midwives to provide responsive, high quality care to women and their families.

The Midwifery Clinical Placement Facilitator is professionally responsible and accountable to work within the boundaries of both the NMC Code of Conduct, and Trust Policies and Processes.

Continuing Professional Development is fundamental within all roles with the Trust for both clinical and non-clinical practice, where sharing knowledge and training is an expected normality amongst colleagues.

The Midwifery Clinical Placement Facilitator leads on the training of evidence based practice for Student Midwives, including the review of current teaching and learning practice, creation of facilitation and learning materials and the support and mentoring allocations.
