Crynodeb

This role provides a rare and exciting opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary team working in one of the country’s finest and most accessible protected landscapes.

The Chilterns Conservation Board (CCB) is a statutory body established by Parliamentary Order in 2004. It is one of only two Conservation Boards in the country set up so far under the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000. Our primary role is to promote the conservation and enhancement of the natural beauty of the Chilterns AONB, now known as the Chilterns National Landscape. Where it is compatible with that role, we also promote the understanding and enjoyment of its special qualities, and in partnership with others seek to foster the economic and social well-being of local communities.

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager but working with a number of people across the Operations Team and beyond, this is an excellent opportunity to take on a varied administrative role with real impact in an organisation that is focused on making a difference. The role requires someone who is ambitious and looking to progress to a more senior role in the near future. This is an opportunity to be at the heart of facilitating positive change across the organisation.

As a core member of the Operations Team, you will be responsible for:
1. working with the Senior Finance Manager and Senior Administration Officer in delivering effective, robust and timely financial operations and payroll (50% time)
2. leading administrative support for the organisation around HR and Health & Safety (35% time)
3. supporting the CEO and working with the Head of Operations on improving ways of working in key areas (15% time)

Key to success in this role will be an ability to work effectively and efficiently with a strong eye for detail and a natural curiosity to understand the way in which things work and how they can be improved. In leading administration support for HR and Health & Safety you will work closely with staff across the organisation, and particularly those leading transformation work in these areas. Working with the CEO will also offer a great opportunity to expand your knowledge of the organisation and protected landscapes as a whole.

Key Accountabilities:
• Undertake day-to-day processing of financial transactions including the processing of payments, creation of purchase orders and processing of card payments for the organisation
• Raise sales invoices, undertake procurement and to manage supplier information for the organisation
• Process staff travel expenses and address staff financial queries
• Lead on HR administration for the organisation including recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, the maintenance of personnel files, calculation of annual leave and reporting to the Senior Leadership Team
• Lead on health & safety administration for the organisation including fire safety, incident & accident reporting, first aid supplies and workstation assessments
• Support the establishment of a new HR system and internal communications platform for the organisation
• Support the Operations Team in the development and embedding of operational processes and procedures across the organisation
• Provide administrative support to the Chief Executive Officer especially through undertaking research and information gathering and organising meetings
