Production Operative – £12.30 per hour + Benefits – Newmarket, Suffolk

The Role

Are you experienced in food manufacturing and committed to maintaining high standards in hygiene and food safety? Do you thrive in a team environment and seek continuous improvement in your work?

We are a dynamic food production company providing a wide range of chilled and frozen products for the retail, food service and ingredients markets, both for our clients and for our own brands. We are looking for a dedicated Production Operative to join our growing team.

In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient production, assembly, and packing of food products. Your role will involve ensuring all tasks are carried out in accordance with product specifications, company standards, and food safety procedures.

Note: Shifts 6am-2pm (Mon-Sat, 40 hours per week) and 2pm-10pm (Mon-Fri, 40 hours per week).

Key Responsibilities:

• Production & Quality Control: Complete tasks in line with company procedures, ensuring all food products meet the required specifications and quality standards.
• Safety & Hygiene: Adhere to health and safety regulations, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and following hygiene protocols.
• Continuous Improvement: Participate in efforts to improve efficiency, safety, and product quality within the production process.
• Team Collaboration: Work as part of a team to meet daily targets while maintaining product quality and ensuring food safety.
• Equipment Operation: Operate machinery safely and efficiently, following all relevant training and procedures.
• Documentation & Reporting: Complete paperwork accurately and in a timely manner for all relevant tasks and report any issues or hazards to the Team Leader.

With two factories totalling 35,000 ft2 encompassing multiple, interchangeable high and low care lines we have the facilities to produce quality products in a variety of formats within regulated temperature-controlled conditions.

The Person

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience in food manufacturing (If you don't have experience we will offer full onboarding and training)
• Has prior experience in food manufacturing
• Understands hygiene and food safety standards
• Is familiar with health and safety regulations
• Can work effectively within a team
• Has basic proficiency in English
