Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of adults with learning disabilities and helping them get the most out of each day?
At Reading Mencap we’re looking for a Senior Care Support Worker to join our 4ME Activities Service, which provides engaging opportunities for adults with learning disabilities to enjoy a range of daytime activities.
This is a rewarding and varied role where you’ll support individuals with a range of needs to develop their independence and explore new interests through meaningful activities. Our clients choose what they want to do, regularly enjoying anything from yoga and dance to cooking and arts and crafts.
In this role, you’ll provide vital practical assistance, including:
• Supporting activities chosen by our members
• Assisting with personal care as necessary
• Developing everyday living skills and travel awareness
A willingness to drive our minibus is essential for this role.
This role would suit someone who is adaptable, non-judgmental and possesses excellent communication skills. You’ll enjoy working as part of a close-knit team committed to providing exceptional care.
Ideally, you’ll have prior experience working with people with learning disabilities, coupled with an understanding of their evolving needs within the community. We also welcome applications from those with caring experience for other vulnerable individuals.
