What skills and experience we're looking for

We’re looking for:We are seeking experienced and qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistant (SEN) to take responsibility to specialise in Forest School and Environmental education. This role will support the delivery of outdoor learning through environmental education and the support of the Forest School Curriculum.You will need Level 3 or equivalent qualification or experience inforest school learning with a paediatric first aid qualification. You will also need a good working knowledge of child development and learning and excellent numeracy and literacy skills. You must also demonstrate awareness and application of policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety and security, confidentiality and data protection.

Main purpose of the job:As a Forest School and Environmental education Teaching Assistant, you will support students with Special Educational needs in outdoor learning and assist with lessons in horticulture, animal care, and other vocational skills.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Assist in planning and delivering outdoor-based, nature-inspired lessons for SEN students.
• Help students build confidence, independence, and resilience through practical activities.
• Provide tailored support to meet individual learning needs.
• Foster a safe, inclusive environment for all students
• Participate in training, to develop relevant learning strategies and ensure students make progress in learning.
• To support the performance management process and demonstrate commitment to continuous professional development.
• To converse at ease and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
