Your new company
A major and expanding force in global logistics is looking for an experienced legal counsel to take up an assignment of up to 12 months. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercial solicitor with logistics experience to join an organisation that is a well-established player in the logistics sector.
Your new role
As part of the in-house legal team, you will provide commercially focused legal support across a wide range of matters. Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing and advising on legal and commercial issues in new contracts with customers and suppliers
- Supporting and leading negotiations on new commercial agreements
- Advising on contract interpretation and dispute resolution strategies
- Managing claims issued against the business, including assessing merits and advising on resolution
- Providing general legal advice across departments including employment, IT, and procurement
- Ensuring compliance with corporate governance policies and applicable laws
This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with the business and providing pragmatic, solution-oriented legal advice.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a 3+ PQE solicitor with experience in a broad range of commercial legal matters, ideally with exposure to cross-border transactions. A background in the logistics or freight forwarding industry is highly desirable, along with familiarity with relevant international conventions and trading conditions.You should have experience advising on outsourcing transactions, including TUPE-related matters, and be confident communicating across functional teams. The ideal candidate will be commercially minded, proactive, and able to work independently while building strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
