Support, Stability and Real Impact in a Specialist SEMH School
Long Term Futures are partnering with a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Grantham to recruit a Teaching Assistant who can bring calm, consistency and compassion to the classroom. Starting in September 2025, this full-time role is an opportunity to work with students aged 5-16 who require tailored support.
This school is part of a progressive Multi-Academy Trust focused on therapeutic and inclusive learning environments.
Your Role:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to pupils with SEMH needs
- Assist in delivering lessons and adapting learning materials to individual abilities
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being throughout the day
- Help maintain a calm, structured and safe classroom environment
- Confidently support pupils who display challenging behaviour, using clear boundaries, consistency and empathy
About You:
- Experience supporting children with SEMH or SEND is highly desirable
- Calm, patient, and solution-focused when facing difficult or disruptive behaviour
- Able to build trust and rapport with pupils
- Comfortable working in a setting where challenging behaviour is part of the day-to-day role
- Resilient, reflective and passionate about helping children overcome barriers
