The successful candidate will hold strategic responsibility for leading the design and delivery of customer-focused services, aligning operations with wider organisational aims and driving measurable outcomes.
It encompasses service planning, performance management, and budgetary oversight, alongside effective leadership of teams to maintain operational excellence. A key element involves driving transformational change and continuous improvement across the service, fostering innovation, benchmarking outcomes, and encouraging collaborative working. As a senior leader, the post-holder promotes organisational values, champions cultural and behavioural development, and provides high-level guidance to executive stakeholders and governance bodies, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
The role also supports effective cross-functional collaboration to deliver shared strategic priorities, manages communication and public engagement within the service area, and develops strong external partnerships with suppliers, community organisations, and other agencies to enhance service quality and deliver value.
