Crynodeb
To undertake psychiatry assessments of young people and families referred to Collingham Child and Family Centre, devise formulations and care plans and provide interventions/treatments. To contribute to the clerking and assessment on admission for inpatient children, including consideration of the legal framework for admission, mental state examination, risk assessment and physical examination of the child. To provide medication treatment and therapy appropriate to level of training and experience under the supervision of the Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist To contribute to assessments under the Mental Health Act. To contribute to the discharge process of inpatient children, including use of outcome measures, clinical coding and ensuring safe discharge planning. To communicate medical/psychiatry issues effectively within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) and contribute to MDT meetings (e.g. ward rounds, CPA/review meetings,.) To liaise with community professionals (e.g. community CAMHS, school, social care, others) and with medical colleagues (e.g. GPs, A&E, Paediatricians, etc), and attend professionals meetings, as required per the childs care. To ensure good record keeping and clinical documentation of assessments,interventions, and liaison, as per GMC guidance, and to contribute to reports/correspondence as outlined in the clinical protocol of the service.
