The role:
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Housing Management Officer to join the team.
In this key role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality housing management services within a designated area of the town.
Key responsibilities:
Work in close liaison and partnership with tenants, residents, members, other sections and departments and voluntary and statutory organisations to promote and develop inclusive and sustainable areas and provide an holistic approach to tenancy management issues
Deal with all tenancy related matters in Council owned properties, including low level ASB, including enforcement of the Tenancy Agreement
Complete inspections of properties shared and communal areas to ensure health and safety of tenants and to ensure that all repairs and estate issues are carried out effectively and efficiently in partnership with residents, members and other organisations.
Ensure the efficient re-let of properties to maximise income collection and reduce waiting list for re-housing
Work in close liaison and partnership with internal and external agencies to assist in the delivery of major programmes of work to properties and areas
Provide written and verbal responses for Councillors, tenants and senior management as required
Carry out Rent Control and monitor individual accounts and take appropriate recovery action, culminating in eviction when necessary
What the client is looking for:
Approximately 2 years’ experience of working in a housing environment or related field
NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in housing related field being is desirable
Approximately 2 years’ experience of property inspections including identifying repairs and maintenance needs.
Experience of account monitoring
IT literate, capable of using Microsoft Packages.
Ability to use initiative and decision making in challenging and changing environments.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Experience of building and maintaining effective relationships.
Commitment to providing excellent customer service with the ability to be caring/empathetic
Capable of independent travel to carry out the requirements of the post
Ability to carry out lone working
Experience of carrying out external visits
