The role:
On behalf of a local council, we are seeking a Void Officer to be responsible for overseeing the Voids Procedure from survey to sign-off.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough inspections of void properties to assess their condition.
Utilise professional experience and judgement to determine necessary repairs, ensuring compliance with the Council's Void Lettable Standard
Identify and address health and safety risks, such as damp and mould.
Raise job orders and coordinate with contractors for required repairs and maintenance.
Manage the procurement and inventory of materials required for property refurbishment.
Maintain and update systems and trackers to monitor the status and progress of void properties.
Sign off properties once all work is completed to the required standard.
Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations throughout all processes.
What the client is looking for:
Previous experience in a similar role within housing or property management, preferably with a background in project management is desirable
In-depth knowledge of local housing policies and regulations is desirable
Relevant qualifications such as IOSH Managing Safely, SMSTS Certification, and a Level 3 qualification is desirable
Valid driving licence and access to a car.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, and Teams.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
