As a Learning Support Assistant, you'll play a crucial role in empowering students with autism and SEMH to access their education and achieve their full potential. You'll work closely with teachers and the wider support team to create an inclusive and effective learning experience.

Your Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with autism and SEMH during lessons and activities.
  • Assist in the implementation of individualised learning plans (ILPs), adapting materials and strategies to meet diverse needs.
  • Support students with their social and emotional development, promoting positive behaviour and self-regulation.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, the pastoral team, and the family liaison team to ensure holistic student support.
  • Help maintain accurate records of student progress and contributions to assessments.
  • Contribute to creating a safe, positive, and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Participate in school events and initiatives to foster a strong school community.
We're Looking For Someone Who Has:
  • Proven experience working with children or young people, particularly those with autism and/or SEMH needs (minimum 6 months).
  • A passion for making learning engaging and accessible for all students, especially those with special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A commitment to providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
  • An understanding of differentiated instruction and individualised learning plans (ILPs) is desirable.
  • Experience using a range of support methods to track student progress is a plus.
What We Offer:
  • Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career progression within a supportive environment.
  • Access to ongoing training and resources to enhance your skills in working with students with autism and SEMH.
  • A collaborative and supportive work environment with a dedicated and passionate team.
  • The chance to make a real difference in the lives of young people.
  • A beautiful working environment located in a stunning natural setting.

If you are a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant with a proven track record of success in supporting students with autism and SEMH, we encourage you to apply. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a school committed to providing exceptional education and care.
