Summary

About the role
We are looking for a compassionate and proactive individual to work with Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), providing one-to-one and small group support for a child/children with additional learning and developmental needs. You will play a key role in helping to create a nurturing and stimulating environment that supports every child to thrive. You will be working within a SEN school based in Tameside, and the role will start from September.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored support for children with SEN, particularly within the EYFS setting
- Work closely with class teachers and SENCO to implement EHCP targets
- Assist with observation, assessment, and planning of individualised learning activities
- Encourage positive social interactions, communication skills, and emotional development
- Support with personal care when necessary
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with children in an Early Years or SEN setting
- A relevant childcare or teaching assistant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 TA, CACHE)
- Knowledge of the EYFS framework and SEN best practices
- Has an Enhanced DBS on the update service (if you do not have a DBS, you will need to be willing to get one)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Patience, resilience, and a nurturing attitude
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
