Pastoral Mentor - Secondary School - Tower Hamlets
We are working with a high-performing secondary school in Tower Hamlets to recruit a Pastoral Mentor for a September start.
The school is known for its well-established pastoral systems, diverse student body, and strong links with families and local services. Staff are given the tools and training to support students holistically, not just academically.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring for students with SEMH, attendance or behaviour concerns
* Support Heads of Year with daily check-ins, welfare reviews, and follow-up actions
* Assist in the re-integration of students returning from exclusions or prolonged absence
* Help coordinate referrals to external services where appropriate
* Liaise with families to build strong support networks and reinforce strategies
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience in a school pastoral, youth work or SEMH support role
* A confident, calm and consistent presence
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* An understanding of safeguarding and behaviour systems
Location and Transport - Tower Hamlets
* Close to Shadwell (Overground & DLR), Whitechapel and Stepney Green stations
* Bus routes include: 25, 106, 309, D3, 205
