Help us protect peace of mind for families across the UK.
At Dignity, we’re more than a funeral provider—we’re trusted custodians of people’s futures. As a regulated funeral plan provider, we hold a unique responsibility to ensure financial security and long-term sustainability for the families who place their trust in us.
We are now looking for a Finance Director – Funeral Plan Trusts, a high-impact leadership role at the heart of our mission. This is an opportunity to join a business with real purpose and play a key role in safeguarding the financial future of our customers and their loved ones.
Your role in our story
You’ll take the lead on all financial oversight and regulatory compliance for Dignity’s Funeral Plan Trusts, ensuring the integrity, solvency, and sustainability of these vital assets.
From financial strategy and investment oversight to risk mitigation and FCA submissions, you’ll work across the business and with external partners to protect and grow our trust-based operations—while keeping transparency, accountability, and dignity at the core of every decision.
What you'll be doing
- Leading the preparation of timely, accurate financial reporting for internal stakeholders, trustees, and regulators.
- Overseeing regulatory submissions, actuarial valuations, and annual Solvency Assessment Reports.
- Monitoring trust solvency, liquidity, and investment performance.
- Identifying financial risks and shaping mitigation strategies to protect our customers’ interests.
- Offering clear financial insight to trustees, the CFO, and senior leadership.
- Playing a key role in strategic planning, sales impact forecasting, and contingency design, including Wind Down Planning.
- Collaborating with auditors, actuaries, investment managers, and the wider Dignity leadership team.
What you'll bring
We’re looking for someone who blends technical depth with strategic leadership, and who thrives in a highly regulated, purpose-led environment.
You’ll need:
- Senior-level finance experience in regulated sectors—funeral plans, trusts, pensions, insurance, or financial services.
- A strong grasp of trust accounting, solvency assessment, investment oversight, and FCA regulation.
- A fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Proven ability to lead teams, influence senior stakeholders, and deliver under pressure.
- High professional integrity, with a genuine interest in protecting people’s futures.
Why this matters?
- Be part of a team driven by care, respect, and responsibility.
- Work on something that truly matters—helping families prepare for life’s most sensitive moments.
- Join a collaborative, trusted, and evolving business that values its people and its purpose.
- Competitive compensation and benefits, with flexible working arrangements available.
What we provide to you
- Annual salary of up to £150,000.
- Company Bonus Scheme.
- 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays.
- BUPA Private Healthcare (Family).
- Pension Scheme 4% Matched.
- Life Assurance X4 Annual Salary.
- Free On-Site Parking.
- Access to our internal apprentice & personal development schemes.
