Randstad Education is seeking a committed Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support students and teachers in a Leeds-based school. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive environment, enabling pupils' access to learning.
Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and provide tailored support to pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.

Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes.

Establish positive and constructive relationships with pupils.
-
Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students.
-
Encourage pupils to engage in teacher-led activities and interact with others.
-
Foster a supportive, purposeful, and orderly learning environment.
-
Monitor and record pupil progress and provide regular, detailed feedback to teachers
-
Promote positive pupil behaviour in line with established policy.
-
Provide administrative support, including photocopying, typing, filing, and routine marking.

Supervise pupils during out-of-lesson times, including before and after school and at lunchtime.

Accompany teaching staff and pupils on school trips and visits as required.
Essential Requirements:
To be shortlisted for this role, you must demonstrate the following:

Qualifications and Experience:
-
Completion of the DfES Teacher Assistant Induction Programme, an NVQ 2 for Teaching Assistants, or an appropriate level of experience operating in a classroom environment is desirable.

Experience working with children of a relevant age.

Skills:

Good numeracy and literacy skills.

Effective use of ICT to support learning.

The ability to relate well to both children and adults.

The ability to work constructively as part of a team.

Knowledge:

A basic understanding of child development and learning.

A general understanding of the national curriculum and other basic learning programmes/strategies.

An understanding of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation.

Desirable Requirements:

GCSE Grades A-C or CSE level 1 in Maths and/or English.
-
First aid training.
-
An understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities.
