Dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (Supply) - Leeds
An exceptional opportunity awaits a committed and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our network of supply staff, supporting primary and secondary schools across the Leeds area. We are seeking a passionate individual to provide invaluable one-to-one and group support to students with a range of special educational needs.
This is a flexible supply role, offering the chance to work in diverse and dynamic educational settings, fitting around your existing commitments.
About the Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in helping students with SEN to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Providing tailored support to students with diverse needs, including Autism (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

Working collaboratively with class teachers and the school's SENCO to implement individualised education plans (IEPs).

Fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.

Assisting with the development of social skills and encouraging positive behaviour.

Preparing learning resources and adapting classroom materials to meet individual needs.
Essential Requirements:

Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role within a UK school setting is essential.

Demonstrable experience and a strong understanding of supporting children with a variety of special educational needs.

A compassionate, patient, and resilient nature.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.

A proactive and flexible approach to work.

An enhanced DBS check on the update service (or a willingness to apply for one).
