Senior Project Planner
An established engineering and infrastructure leader is seeking a highly capable Senior Project Planner to take a pivotal role in planning and controlling major projects across the nuclear industry. This position offers the chance to contribute strategic insight and planning expertise to nationally significant programmes in a highly regulated environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, maintenance, and optimisation of integrated project schedules across complex, multidisciplinary nuclear projects
  • Provide advanced analysis on schedule performance, risk modelling, and critical path identification to support programme delivery
  • Interface closely with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams to ensure alignment of plans with project objectives and deliverables
  • Monitor project milestones, cost profiles, and resource forecasts using tools such as Primavera P6 and associated reporting software
  • Prepare high-quality planning reports, dashboards, and progress updates for internal leadership and external stakeholders
  • Support the mentoring of junior planners and contribute to continuous improvement in planning procedures

Requirements

  • Degree or HND in Project Management, Engineering, or a relevant technical field
  • Extensive experience in project planning within the nuclear sector or comparable regulated industries (e.g. defence, energy, infrastructure)
  • Strong proficiency in planning and scheduling software (Primavera P6 essential)
  • Solid understanding of earned value management, project controls, and full project lifecycle delivery
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to lead planning efforts on high-value, high-risk projects with minimal oversight
